Have you ever had the feeling that instead of sitting at that desk and sipping tea, you should be somewhere else—preferably in a forest, dancing with other ephemeral creatures? If so, this pattern is for you! Designed in a romantic, delicate style with mystical woods in mind, this T-shirt is perfect for most times of the year, but especially for warmer days due to its airy character. The pattern also has a pullover version for the colder season or if you simply refuse to wear anything other than a sweater.
The pattern has three variations: a narrow-sleeved T-shirt (shown in beige and green), a wide-sleeved T-shirt (shown in blue), and a pullover. The body can be either straight (as in the beige and green T-shirt) or shaped (as in the blue T-shirt and pullover). It is worked in the round, top-down, featuring a textured pattern on the yoke. The design incorporates three colors, but feel free to use as many as you like! The fit is relaxed.
The pattern is written for sizes XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL, 6XL, which corresponds to the following yardage:
Main color: 200g, 200g, 200g, 200g, 200g, 200g, 300g, 300g, 300g, 350g. (If you decide to go for the pullover, keep in mind that you will need an additional 100g of main color yarn.)
Contrast colors: 60g for both contrast colors, unless you want to do the ribbing in different colors than the main one—then I would recommend at least 50g more.
The yarns listed are only suggested, the pattern requires 3 colors (one main and 2 contrasting for the structured pattern) of fingering weight yarn and looks best if the yarn has a little drape.
Sizes: The pattern is written for sizes XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL, 6XL with the finished garment bust circumference: 92, 100, 112.5, 120, 131, 139, 150, 159, 170, 181 cm, or 35.8, 39, 44, 46.8, 51, 54.3, 58.3, 62, 66.2, 71 inches. The sizes correspond to the following bust sizes: 70 -80, 81 -90, 91 -100, 101 -110, 111 - 120, 121 - 130, 131 - 140, 141 - 150, 151 - 160, 161 -170 in cm, 27.6 -31.5, 31.5 -35.4, 35.4 -39.3, 39.4 -43.3, 43.3 -47, 47 -51, 51 -55, 55 -59, 59 -63, 63 -67 in inches. The photos show pieces with size L.
The pattern is suitable for someone who is familiar with (or willing to learn) the following techniques: cast on, elastic cast-off, increases, decreases, slipping stitches, short rows (optional), knit, and purl.
