ABOUT BUTTERBUN’S BUTTERFLY WINGS
These wings were originally designed for Butterbun, and published as a standalone pattern by popular request. You can use them on amigurumi in the same fashion as Butterbun to create a fantasy hybrid creature, make an actual butterfly with them, or use them for non-amigurumi purposes.

Attach them like applique to clothing: on the front or back of sweaters and hoodies, on the clasp of a bolero, on the pockets of jeans or a jacket, or on a bag. Hang them in a frame on a kid’s bedroom wall, attach them to hair pins or make them into a brooch or earrings.

ABOUT THE PATTERN
These wings are crocheted using the applique technique, made in 4 separate pieces that you can attach to other items. Diagrams are provided as an additional supplement to the written steps and photos.

Although the wings contain a multitude of colour changes, there will be zero loose ends to weave in. Instead, the loose ends will be secured with a simple knot and sandwiched away between the 2 layers of the wings, which only takes a few minutes.

PATTERN INFO
YARN WEIGHT: The pattern is designed using double knit yarn, which is the equivalent to yarn weight 3, light worsted, 8 ply or 11 wpi. You can use any weight of yarn that you prefer for this project.

YARN QUANTITY: 18g/46m

SIZE: 12.5 cm tall X 14.5 cm wide

TERMINOLOGY: US terminology with metric sizes.

SKILL LEVEL: Advanced.
