Light, lacy, and airy, the Buttercup Top is perfect for breezy warm days. This versatile and eye-catching crochet blouse pairs beautifully with cutoff shorts, capris, skirts, or even layered over long sleeve shirts in colder months. Choose between two different v-neckline depths to get the coverage and silhouette you want! Any dk or sport weight yarn can be used, however I highly recommend using natural fibres such as bamboo, silk, cotton, or linen, as they provide a lovely drape that compliments the flouncy sleeves and trim along the bottom of the top.

Buttercup is worked all in one piece, with minimal seaming required. The back panel is worked first, from the top down, then the front neckline panels are created by directly working into the back panel. The neckline is shaped and joined together (with crocheters choosing either the Plunge or High V Neckline option depending on their preference) , and the remainder of the front is worked to match the back panel. The flutter sleeves are worked in rounds, then the yarn is reattached at the bottom to create the flouncy hem in the round. The neckline is then finished with a simple edging. Weave in all the ends and enjoy your new top!

In the pattern, I say that any weight and fibre yarn and hook size can be used. IMPORTANT: Yardage, hook size, and gauge will all vary depending on the size and weight of materials used.
