Free Butterfly Pattern for August’s #freebeefridayknits

Oh my, so much scope for this!
Bring a touch of beauty to your next project… whether you’re crafting for yourself or making a thoughtful handmade gift, this delicate design is a joy to create.

Each wing is knitted individually with a length of fine wire encompassing the wing tip.
Then the wings are fitted into the knitted body - the wire ends becoming the legs and antennae.
There’s a free tutorial here - Patreon

It’s a most mindful project I think… I’ve knitted about 7 already!

Oh! and there are four different versions in the one pattern - one of them have dual coloured wings - different back of wing to front.

I can’t wait to see the ‘kaleidoscope’ of butterflies (did you know that?) that will emerge… perfect stash buster too!
