Butterfly coasters. This crochet pattern isn’t for coasters that look like butterflies, but coasters than can be turned into butterflies!

I drink coffee so often that I think it should be considered a food group. Because I always have a cuppa coffee in my hand, coasters are necessary in my house to avoid ruining my tabletops. I also have a tween-age daughter who loves to accessorize. Everything is better with some glitter or something pretty. What better way to help her accessorize than to make some butterfly appliques. They can be pinned to her clothes, purse or book bag. We can also glue them onto a clip or headband to accessorize her hair.

In this crochet pattern, I show you how to make coasters to protect your own tabletops as well as how to turn these useful coasters into pretty butterflies. This pattern includes pictures to help in case you get stuck.
