Butterick’s 1892 Double Eyelet edging is reversible. It starts with 24 stitches and has 12 pattern rows. There is a double yarn over in rows 3 and 9. They’re worked as three stitches in the following rows but this isn’t difficult to do. I added an optional 4-row beginning and ending border. With big needles and thick yarn, this pattern could be a scarf since it looks the same on both sides.
The edging is 2.75 inches at its widest at gauge but any gauge will do.

Skills needed: cast on, slip, knit, purl, YO, YO twice, work 3 stitches in a double yarn over,
k2tog, SK2P, and bind off in knit stitch.

Gauge is not important in this pattern. Any block-able yarn/thread will work. Make a swatch to check gauge and appearance.

42 yards of Aunt Lydia’s Classic 10 thread will make 10 inches of this edging at gauge.
