This 1892 reversible edging starts with 11 stitches. It slowly increases to 27 stitches over 17 rows. 16 stitches are then bound off on row 18 to start the next repeat. This pattern is very predictable and enjoyable to work. The edging is 3 inches at its widest blocked at gauge but gauge is not important.

Skills needed: cast on, slip, knit, purl, YO, YO twice, k2tog and bind off in knit stitch.

Gauge is not important in this pattern. Any block-able yarn/thread will work. Make a swatch to check gauge and appearance.

20 yards of Aunt Lydia’s Classic 10 thread will make 10 inches of this edging at gauge.
