I designed this to make good use of my worsted and aran weight hand-dyed yarns. I wanted it to be simple and easy for a beginner, and also to be small enough to both fit on a to-go paper cup and stretchy enough to fit on a mug. The bound-off edge will actually become the bottom edge since it will be a bit tighter and will accommodate the taper of the to-go cup.
