Bigger kids need bigger toys to hug. Bigger toys with really really long tails and surplus personality.

Designed for a bulky weight yarn, finished cats will measure about 16” from head to toe when knit to gauge (ears not included). You’ll need roughly 180 yards of the main color and 55 yards of contrast for a cat with a good long tail. A set of double pointed needles, grafting/kitchener skills and the ability to work ‘fully-fashioned’ increases and decreases is also required.

The cat is a straightforward knit - no tricks this time. Intermediate and above knitters will be fine. And while I wouldn’t recommend him to a beginning beginner, and adventurous advanced beginner might like the challenge!

All of the “is for” patterns are compatible. If you want to put the Rabbit’s arms on the Cat (or vice versa) - go for it.

The orange cat featured in the pattern was knit with a custom dyed organic hand spun yarn from http://spinspanspun.etsy.com - ask for the CAT. Myrtille’s yarn is beautiful and the softest wool I have ever every touched. It’s worth absolutely every penny. The grey cat is made with the more commercially available 0-Wool Legacy Bulky. Also an awesome organic yarn, but is is a little more of a hard working yarn. Not a bad thing if you expect your cat to see a lot of action! Both yarns are grown by happy sheep!
