My favourite crochet stitch at the moment is traditional corner to corner (C2C) stitch. It’s fast and relaxing to work. I have challenged myself to try different ways to use C2C other than just blankets, and the first thing I to try was a wearable cardigan, with short sleeves.
The pattern does not cover the basic C2C technique, but what it does contain is the maths on getting the size right for you, the best way to construct the cardigan. The cardigan I worked is a comfortable Australian dress size 12 – 14.
The cardigan is based on rectangles that are seamed together using mattress stitch. Because I like the edge created by C2C, I have left most of the cardigan without a worked edge, but I did add a short collar/button strip, which makes an interesting feature. Four buttons are used to close the front. The other different construction technique used is adding small gussets to the sleeve tops for ease.
