CÁBA
…………………

Cába means collar in Irish Gaelic. And that is exactly what this is.

With barn coats, chore jackets, and aviation-style bombers having a moment lately, it is surprising to see how many of these garments are fitted with synthetic ‘teddy’ and faux-shearling type collars.

Luckily, the outer
layer is often detachable, with the fabric beneath adhering to simple shapes and standard
dimensions. Which gives us the perfect opportunity to knit woolly replacements.

Using the unique Varv yarn, the result will be pleasingly fluffy, entirely natural,
and harmless to sheep.

This pattern can also be used for adding a textured collar to hand-knitted garments, including cardigans, pullovers and vests.
