These socks were designed for long, cold winter days and nights. The Cable & Seed Knee Socks are worked from the toe up and feature a peasant heel. Calf shaping is incorporated into the ribbing pattern at the sides of each leg to give the socks stretch, which helps them stay put.

Difficulty Intermediate

Finished Size 8” foot circumference and 9.25” long from back of heel to tip of toe; foot length is adjustable.

Yarn Plymouth Yarn Worsted Merino Superwash (100% superwash merino wool): #16 burgundy, 2 skeins.

Needles Size 6 (4 mm). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions Markers; cable needle; waste yarn for heel; tapestry needle.

Gauge 21 sts and 32 rnds = 4” in St st; 23 sts of Cable chart = 3.75” wide.

Note These socks are worked in the round from the toe up with a peasant heel. Calf shaping is incorporated into a ribbed pattern at each side of the leg to give the sock stretch and to help the sock stay up.
