Sometimes you just want to sit and knit. For me, what ever I’m working on has to be something with a little bit extra in order to keep me interested. I designed this straightforward and simple hat for tv or Netflix watching. Because of the ribbed pattern and widely spaced cables you can use whatever yarn strikes your fancy. Variegated? Speckled? Cotton blend? This hat is perfect for all of that. Wanna add a fanciful pom? Be my guest.

Details: Hat is worked from the bottom up. It’s designed to be extra long so that you can fold it up for extra, warm ear coverage. The ribbing and extra length also make sure that there is enough space for big hair. Cable instructions are written. No charts.

Size: Finished measurements are 16” circumference unstretched and 10” tall.

Fit: Model has a 23” head. Hat should be worn with plenty of negative ease. This allows space for kinky or curly hair, a cozy fit, and the crown stands up if you decide not to fold the brim.

Yarn: The yarn pictured is speckled OOAK from Lolabean Yarn Co. ~3/4 skein Lolabean Yarn Co Garbanzo Bean (approx 200 yds)

Needle: 1 set US #4 / 3.5mm DPNs or 16” long circular
