These socks, designed for us by Debbie Abrahams, have a cable with an odd number of stitches; there is a purl stitch in the middle to offer a challenge to the knitter, and the cables are set between panels of seed stitch. The pretty cuff, which gives a feminine look, conceals the ribbing that helps to hold up the sock. Denim cotton yarn is hard wearing and lends itself to textured stitches. As it is washed and worn, the indigo dye will fade, giving the cables a three-dimensional look; the shrinkage in the first was has been taken into account here.
