What I really like about this pattern is that most any mistakes do not show. There were times I swapped out and worked an additional knit row, then knit a cable row. The pattern is also easy to memorize each row as you work it instead of needing to continually glance at the pattern.
This pattern is adjustable in size - by adding repeats of the entire eight rows or just part of them. It becomes easy to see how many rows to add or work less rows for a shorter head. You may stop or continue at any point.
The brim is worked to 1.25” or 1.5” according to preference. You may also add a rolled brim as indicated in the pattern by working a purl (or knit row, if preferred) and continue the brim rows.
The pattern is written to 7” tall with thicker DK yarn. I added 5 more pattern rows with the thicker DK yarn which gave an 8” tall hat and 9” tall hat with ‘regular’ DK yarn.
I tested this pattern numerous times but please contact me if you find any problems with pattern. I’m here to help so please don’t hesitate to contact.
The yardage is a guesstimate since I was able to get two hats out of one skein of Cascade Yarns Spuntaneous Worsted Effects. Yardage is always based on a personal knitting style and I try to eek out as much as I can from each skein.
