These three hats are quick knits using worsted yarn doubled (two strands held together). It makes for a fast gift and the variety of yarns available can greatly change your final look!

You could substitute a chunky yarn for the doubled worsted if you desire.

Each of these three hats has a different feel. The first is an interlocking cable repeated around the hat, the second has one motif (great for guys and also great for needle felting or embroidering a monogram or other design) and the third is an overall tiny cable repeat which reads like a honeycomb texture.

I used a heather yarn which shows the cables really well, but using a striping yarn creates a lovely effect; the slower the stripe, the more pronounced the cable will appear.

This is a great opportunity to try various kinds of simple cables, and you can use your favorite cable method on them, or try out a new method!

Enjoy!
