Have you ever felt you could use just a couple more fingers sometimes when knitting cables, sewing in tails, etc.
I usually end up holding my cable needle in my mouth ‘till the next cable in the row and my tapestry needle could end up anywhere!
So here is a great little gadget-inspired by “hold my cable needle please” which is a knit flat version.

Not being a big fan of grafting and having more bits of sock yarn that I will ever use up, I have designed the “cable keeper” which is knit in the round in sock/fingering or even a light sport wt.yarn.
I used a 1.5 for sock wt and a 2 for sport wt.
All you need is about 6 yds and a long circular for magic loop-you could also use dpn’s if you prefer.
A really quick knit, just sew in the tails and you are done!
Knit a bunch up, add a cable needle and you have a great gift for all your yarnie friends!

Please post your projects when you make this, thanks!
