A fairly simple first cable project that knits up quite quickly thanks to the bulky yarn. Great stash buster that uses about 100g of yarn. Note that the Ella Rae suggested is just 121 yards, and a 2nd skein of that yarn is suggested in that case!
This lovely warm beret has just the right amount of “slouch” and works with most any bulky weight yarn. Can be knit without DPNs if you use the very simple and wonderful “magic loop” method (link to video tutorial included with pattern, as well as a link to a great cable knitting tutorial). If you can increase & decrease and knit in the round you can do this!
