Excerpt from Bargello Knits

Free-form sculpture with a long knitted strip resulted in this hat. It was such an intuitive piece that I had to make another one so I could write the pattern. The chunky clasp is actually a pre-strung set of beads from the craft store.

Pattern notes
The main body of the hat is worked in a strip with waste yarn selvedges. The strip is coiled around and attached to itself along the side edges, joining the ends with a three needle bind off. The crown is picked up in the round and worked with decreases to close the top.
