The Cable Weave Beanie is a warm hat with a simple repeated cable motif that is easy to remember. The solid stockinette cabling results in a dense, wind-resistant fabric that will protect your ears and keep your hair in place. Worked in the round, the instructions are written and easy to follow without being dull.

You can use this pattern as a stash buster if you wish, changing yarn colour every 4 or 8 rows, as shown below. The striped hat shows the effect of both 4 and 8 row colour shifts, perfect as a stash buster.

The edging is in reverse stockinette and fits just below the ears, worked with 5mm needles in the round. Also in the round, the crown is worked with 7mm needles, making the cabling easier.
