This has was designed to coordinate with the Cabled & Ribbed scarf pattern. It has the same features as the scarf in that there is no “wrong” side to it. The front of this hat has plaited cables running the length of it sandwiched in between ribbings. The back side of the hat shows only the ribbing. (The trick lies in how you maneuver the cable needles.) The pattern is kept easy by having all the decreases worked at the top once the pattern is complete. Additionally, there is no need to create a band of ribbing, since the whole hat will be ribbed on the back side. Once you start the pattern, you don’t stop until you get to the crown of the hat.

The sample you see in the picture is made with a double strand of Peruvian Tweed yarn (100% Superfine Alpaca). You may use this yarn to knit your scarf (it’s a dream to work with, so warm and soft!) or substitute with a yarn of your choice.

As with all my patterns, you will receive a pdf document providing step-by-step instructions on how to make the scarf. For those who are visually oriented (as I am!), I also provide a knitting chart explaining how to knit the repeating pattern.
