Cabled Chalk Bag for Climbing
You can use this bag for storing chalk for rock climbing or you can just make it as a drawstring bag. For rock climbing purposes, feel free to add in a carabiner just by stitching it through a piece fabric onto the bag once finished.
This guide will be divided up in 2 parts. The knitting part for the outer shell (with subsections for either the red bag or the green bag as shown in pictures), and the lining part for the inner shell and overall construction of the bag.
Knitting:
Yarn: Bernat Handicrafter Cotton – 100g
Needles: Size US 7 (4.5mm) DPNs
Gauge doesn’t really matter. You can guesstimate for the size of your hands and modify the pattern to start decreases earlier if you want a smaller bag.
Lining:
Fleece fabric – as much as is required for the size of your bag
Eyelet + eyelet installation (you’ll need a hammer or mallet)
Cord
Drawstring closure
Sewing machine or sewing notions (needle, thread)
BTW, this is my first pattern, so feel free to ask questions/leave comments!
