This is a small project, quick and easy to make.

These gloves are built from the palm to the arm, worked in rounds, so you can knit up to the desired length, or until you run out of yarn.

Knitting skills required: knitting in rounds, increases, decreases, and basic cables.

The pattern is a PDF pattern booklet that contains round-by-round instructions to make short or long gloves. Detailed step-by-step instructions are provided for the thumb opening, thumb gusset and stitch pattern.

All instructions have been tested, proofread and technically edited. The directions are clear - and may be sometimes excessive for an experienced knitter - but if you still have questions, you are more than welcome to contact me.

Definitely a one-skein project!

Great and economical for gifts: one skein of Cascade 220 Heathers makes two 9-inch long pairs!

For a pair of 9-inch (22cm) gloves, reaching mid-arm, you will need approximately 110 yards (50g / 100 meters) of worsted wool yarn (55 yards per glove).

For a pair of 12-inch (30cm) gloves, reaching up to the elbows, approximately 150 yards (70g / 140 meters) of worsted yarn (75 yards per glove).

Merino wool is the best choice, but any soft-to-the-touch wool blend - such as Cascade 220 Heathers or Knit Picks Swish Worsted - works well.

Cotton, linen, silk, and fibres that are not stretchy are not recommended for this pattern.

Needle size suggested: US 7 (4.5 mm) circular needles or DPNs
