This pattern makes a cosy 2-coloured headband/earwarmer using crochet cables. US and UK patterns are provided.

Level

This pattern is intermediate in level and uses:
UK: double crochet, half treble crochet, front and back post stitches
US: single crochet, half double crochet, front and back post stitches

You should be comfortable working these stitches, though written descriptions of all the stitches used are provided.

Gauge

Be aware that the recommended yarn is quite a thick aran/worsted yarn, and if using a more typical aran/worsted yarn, your headband may come up smaller/narrower. Compare your yarn to the pattern gauge to check its suitability.

The pattern gauge is: 8 rows of 10 half trebles (US half doubles) = 7.5 x 7.5 cm using a 5mm hook. Using a larger/smaller hook can adjust for small variations in gauge. You may find a chunky/bulky weight is more appropriate for some brands.

Quantities

You will need approximately 50g of yarn in total. Less than 1 ball of each colour.
