These cabled headbands are designed to suit different comfort levels with cables. The Honeycomb Cable is for knitters who are new to cabling and basic instructions on how to cable are provided in a linked tutorial. The Braided Cable is slightly more complex and the Twisted Ropes Cable is designed for those who can handle more intricate work with different types of cables being knit simultaneously. All headbands are knit flat and then sewn. Be sure to select a yarn that is both soft and warm – my personal preference for this project is Estelle’s Highland Alpaca Worsted, which I find to be soft against my skin and it provides clear stitch definition for cable work. I was able to make 2 headbands from 1 skein of Estelle Highland Alpaca Worsted. Size is for a head circumference of 47cm (18.5 inches) and can be altered to suit by increasing or decreasing the number of rows knit.
