This cozy cabled cover for your mini-laptop or “netbook” starts with Judy’s Magic Cast-On to create a gusset and then is worked in the round on two circular needles. The simple cable pattern radiates from the center and is suitable for beginners, as well as being a great first chart-reading project. The top is finished with applied i-cord to make installing the zipper a breeze. The piece can also be adapted to fit larger notebook computers or made slightly thinner to accommodate an e-reader or iPad. Special thanks to my friend Ilene, whose pullover with radiating cables was the inspiration for this design.

About the book…

Ever wonder if Judy’s Magic Cast-On could be used outside of socks? Judy Becker shows five ways to use JMCO. Twenty-three patterns from twenty-one designers showcase each clearly illustrated technique. Adventurous knitters will find fun projects and a treasure map to explore.
