I was inspired to create this pattern when my little sister, an avid American Girl enthusiast, begged me to knit a sweater dress for her doll. After hours of searching for a decent pattern online and finding nothing, I decided to create a pattern myself. Because it uses a sport-weight yarn, this sweater is not as quick to knit as other doll knitting patterns. However, the end result is as beautiful and fashionable as the garments found in magazines.
