A southwestern-inspired summer wrap in classic blue and ivory cotton yarn. The overlay mosaic crochet technique adds interesting raised texture to the diamond motifs. Twisted fringe adds boho style with no ends to weave in!

Yarn
Schachenmayr Catania Denim, fine weight #2 yarn (100% cotton; 137 yds/125 m per 1.8 oz/50 g skein)
• 8 skeins Nachtblau (blue) – Yarn A
• 6 skeins Natur (ivory) – Yarn B

Yarn A creates the raised diamond pattern. You will need 1,096 yards (1,000 meters) of Yarn A.

Yarn B is the background yarn. You will need 822 yards (750 meters) of Yarn B.

Skill Level
Intermediate. Requires chain, single crochet, and double crochet stitches.

Size
20” by 82” (51 cm by 208 cm)

The pattern includes a tutorial, a chart, and written row-by-row instructions.

This wrap is worked in the overlay mosaic crochet style, inspired by Tinna Thórudóttir Thorvaldsdóttir’s Havana Afghan (https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/havana-afghan-cal).

Each row is worked in only one color of yarn. Odd rows (Row 1, Row 3, Row 5, etc.) are always worked with Yarn A. These rows include both single and double crochet stitches. These rows form the diamond pattern.

Even rows (Row 2, Row 4, Row 6, etc.) are always worked with Yarn B. Even rows are all the same: single crochet through the back loop only of each stitch across. The only exception is the first and last stitch of each row, which are worked through both loops of the stitch.
