I created this pattern with a ribbed beanie base, worked in rows instead of the round. I made this pattern for a large size, but go into detail about how to make one customized to your specific size. This is a simple pattern, perfect for beginners. I used a 5mm crochet hook and acrylic yarn. I used about half of a skein for the beanie itself and a quarter of a skein for the detail pieces.
