The square was created with the thought that it looked like a desert sky with cactus in the foreground and mountains in the background. You can use different color combinations to create different times of the day in a desert scene. Using different colors for the sun, background, foreground the square will look like different times of the day or night.

I’ve included two video links within the pattern for this square. The Desert Sky (the mountains) and the Cactus. I believe I’ve created two new crochet stitches that were inspired by Lori Chaney who I give major props to for all of her input in this pattern.

This pattern will make a beautiful afghan for just about anyone.
