Cadenza, an ornamental passage in music, is like a great accessory to a concerto. These fingerless mitts are a great accessory to add just the right notes to any outfit. They are long and feminine, reminiscent of times past and delicate, but not overly so. Stretchy twisted ribbing makes them fit most everyone.

The lace and ribbing may look complicated, but it’s a simple repeat that is easy to memorize and is both written and charted. Bonus: the lace repeats help the knitter stay in tune with the rest of the instructions. Worked in Blue Sky Alpacas Alpaca silk—it is light and soft with a bit of sheen, so pretty to knit, but any silky sport weight will harmonize with this pattern.
