This shawl poncho goes with jeans and a t-shirt as well as a favourite dress. Make it in any yarn, pure wool for warmth, or a lighter yarn for when worn more for style than utility. I recommend measuring the length you need to make the rectangle, as children of the same age vary in torso length and size. Caireann (pron. Kare-in) is an Irish name meaning “little beloved.”

Sizes: Ages 1 (2, 3)

You will need:
4-5 oz (150-160g) aran weight yarn
Straight knitting needles, size 5 mm (6 U.K. (8 U.S.)
