This hat and cowl set is one of my favourite last-minute gifts for friends and family. It uses easy-to-memorize repeats and has no long stretches of the same colour, meaning I can spend my time knitting, not anchoring my floats. When knit in complementary colours, it creates a subtle geometric design and, when knit in contrasting colours it creates a bold statement piece. It’s also a great project for those who are newer to stranded colour work.

The pattern includes charts for the colour work portion and written instructions for the remainder.

The cowl has one size (11.5” tall, 24” circumference) with instructions on how to increase/decrease the size to your liking. The hat is sized for Adult Small/Medium and Adult Large.

Size S/M Hat: 135 yards (123 meters) MC, 45 yards (41 meters) CC

Size L Hat: 145 yards (133 meters) MC, 50 yards (46 meters) CC
