This bag was designed for the Design Wars Challenge using Red Heart Heads Up yarn.

Materials:
• Bulky weight yarn, 14 oz main color, 14 oz other colors
• Or worsted weight yarn, 7 oz main color, 7 oz other colors
• One large button

I used Red Heart Heads Up (bulky weight) for the bag pictured (each skein is 3.5 oz):
• Brown (MC – main color); 4 skeins
• Red; 1 skein
• Orange; 1 skein
• Yellow; 1 skein

You can also use worsted weight yarn for a smaller bag.

Gauge is not necessary. I suggest using two size smaller hook that you would use for the yarn you picked to make your stitches tight, so the bag will keep its shape.

Finished size of the bag approximately:
• Bulky weight yarn: 20” at the widest part, 12” height
• Worsted weight yarn: 18” at the widest part, 10” height

Pattern notes:

The bag is made by using 4 different colors of yarn, but you can use less or more colors, at least 2. One color (MC – main color) for the cables and every other stripe, the other colors (OC - other colors) are for the rest of the stripes.
I used wooden handles from JoAnn’s for the bag on the picture. At the end of the pattern you will find a crocheted handle option if you don’t want to use a store bought handle.
I also used wooden beads and vintage keys for decoration; those can be purchased in any craft store.
