CHILDREN’S JACKET

A classic shawl-collared jacket for children’s smart casual wear in cold weather, with a close weave that is resistant to chilly frosts and winds. The front edges can be adjusted either to meet at the centre or to overlap for extra warmth. Tailored for comfort with a fitted collar, sloping shoulders, tapered raglan sleeves, and either a straight body profile or an optional method to shape the waist for both boys and girls. The jacket is worked seamlessly from the top downwards in a neat moss stitch that holds its shape well. Construction begins with minimal short-row shaping in the collar, then further components are simply worked onto each other. More adventurous makers may wish to apply an optional textured surface embellishment to the base layer.
