Camogli is the small town where I live. It overlooks the sea with tall and colorful houses. Somone says that this name comes from Ca’ (Home) and “mogli” (wives), because it was inhabited only by wives, since husbands always sailed across the sea. I dedicate this shawl to the sea of Camogli, sometimes calm and sometimes terrifying. It has the pattern of its waves and the color of its water

This shawl is worked from the bottom up. You can easily adjust the size knitting more or less rows. You will work lines of I-cord and waves of short rows in simple garter stitch. I used the German short rows technique, because I’m familiar with it, but you can easily use the technique you prefer. It’s a fun and quick knit, I hope you’ll enjoy.

YARN
MC: 300 gr/10,6 oz of Malabrigo Arroyo (100gr - 3,5 oz/ 306 m - 334 yards) in color Aguas CC: 150 gr/ 5,3 oz Drops Merino Extra fine (50 gr - 1,7 oz / 105m - 115 yards)
NEEDLE
5 mm (US 8, UK and Canada 6) and 4 mm (US 6, UK and Canada 8 ) on almost a 80 cm (32”) cable. If you use interchangable needles, you will need 2 cables, because the two sizes will be used at the same time.
GAUGE
18 sts x 38 rows with smaller needles, blocked, in garter stitch.
Gauge isn’t crucial for the shawl and plus you can work as long as you desire.
OTHER MATERIALS
Stitch markers, holders or waste yarn, tapestry needle.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Knit, purl, I-cord CO and I-Cord BO, German short rows, picking up stitches
