How about making one of these Christmas Stockings for the Campervan or Beetle fan in your life? You can even personalise it to make it extra special. It’s a pretty big stocking too so plenty of room for Santa to squidge a few well chosen goodies into.
This knitting pattern calls for 3 x 50 gram/150 metre balls of yarn, one each in your preferred colour plus a pair of 4mm knitting needles. It is made in one piece so there is only one seam to stitch which I’m sure will come as a relief to all of those (like us) who hate sewing things together!
The finished size is approximately 58 cm/32 inches long and 19 cm/7 1⁄2 inches wide)
The pattern includes an alphabet chart and grid for you to make up your own message. There are charts for the full stocking and for the individual colour sections plus full written instructions.
There are two types of colour work, Fair Isle (two colours per row, stranded) and Mosaic (one colour every two rows using slip stitches). If you’ve not come across Mosaic before don’t let it put you off, it’s easier than Fair Isle as you only use one colour per row (less tangles) and I’ve written out the instructions in full (plus there are loads of really helpful tutorials out there by various folk).
