f you want a simple, highly wearable granny vest, this pattern is for you. The set of instructions is based on my bolero vest pattern available for free in my Ravelry store, but lengthened a row and with buttons added.

The pattern does not cover the basic granny square construction, but what it does contain is the math on getting the size right for you, the best way to layout the squares and what I learnt about joining the squares. The vest worked is a comfortable Australian dress size 12 – 14.

I have drafted a layout of my design on grid paper to help you visualize exactly what you need to make. The jacket is based on solid granny squares in the traditional granny method crocheted using the join as you go method. To the basic squares construction, there are edging rounds added. Four buttons are used to close the front.
