This is a simple Assigned Pooling pattern designed for the novice knitter. I used one skein of A Chick That Knitz Assigned Pooling Yarn in Tropical Flowers Deluxe Sock. A link to their website is in the pattern.
The sizes small, medium and large refer to the circumference of the cowl with small being snugger around the neck, while large would be looser and have more swag.
The Assigned Pooling pattern is only knitted throughout the stockinette portion of the pattern.
