This could be a fox, or a very stylized wolf. Both foxes (vulpes), and wolves (canis) are part of the Canidae family.

When I started drawing the chart for these mittens, it began with the diamonds on the palm and the cuff. I drew the fox face as geometric-looking as possible to match the diamonds.

There are two sets of full right and left hand charts for both mittens. One set says “foxy” on both palms. The second set says “lone” on the left palm and “wolf” on the right palm.

I had a request for a child size chart for this pattern, so I’m including an additional pdf with a chart for child-sized fox mittens, 51 stitches tall and 56 stitches wide. It is intended for use with a plain ribbed cuff and plain thumb. No additional instructions are included for the child-sized chart and your gauge will determine your finished size.

Yardage by color: Approximately 155 yards of dark pink (MC) and 120 yards of light pink (CC).
