Can't Relate to Desperation Socks
These socks are named for Sabrina Carpenter’s Espresso, because the baby blue matches the baby blue aesthetic from Espresso! These socks are knit from the cuff down with a 2x2 ribbed cuff, a shadow wrap heel, and stranded colorwork. The toe is finished with kitchener stitch.
Background picture is actually my Emails I Can’t Send tour t shirt :)
Sample:
The sample was knit with magic loop, size 2. Sample used approximately 35 g/162 yd slate blue base color, and 30 g/139 yd baby blue contract color.
Sizing: 1 (2) 3
To fit foot circumference of: 8 (9) 10.75 inches
Recommended 1 inch of negative ease
Note: If you are in between sizes, you can try the larger of what you’re between and sizing down your needles to 2.25 mm for the entire sock.
Materials: fingering weight sock yarn
Sample used: Knit Picks Stroll Fingering in Blue Steel Heather and Frost)
Gauge: 36 sts x 38 rnds
Needles:
For ribbing: 2.25 mm/US 1 (note: 2.5 mm can be used, but the cuff will be looser)
For heel, leg, and toe: 2.5 mm/US 1.5
Techniques and Tricks:
When knitting colorwork, be consistent through the socks on which color is dominant. The dominant color should be floated below the background color. Sample sock has CC as the dominant color
