Another quick to knit hat designed with our local hats for kids project in mind.

The hat begins with standard 2x2 ribbing for the bottom band but then the ribs begin to slant to the right. The ribs travel around the hat; then reverse direction near the top of the hat creating a swirl.

If you knit according to the pattern, a small size hat will be created. The completed sample hat measures 15” around the bottom band and 7” from top to bottom. but it is quite stretchy. If desired, it’s easy to adjust the size by increasing the number of cast-on stitches in multiples of eight (8).
