This open-weave tank is made with a soft 100% cotton yarn that has a breathable light touch. There is a slight flare from the waistline to the hips, giving an ease to flatter all body shapes (and baby bumps!). It works great with a strappy fitted tank underneath, or over a bikini top as a beach cover-up. You can also continue the pattern and make this into a dress. The name comes from one of my absolute favorite places, Cape Cod, where as a child I went on summer vacation each year with my family to visit my grandparents (these model photos were taken there!). This tank evokes the sun, sand, and water of this beautiful New England peninsula!

This tank is crocheted in the round from the top down seamlessly and then straps are crocheted onto the body from back to front.

SIZES:
S (M, L, XL, 2X, 3X) See chart for finished measurements. The model has a 38” bust and is wearing a size Medium.

There is a good bit of difference between the sizes, with the small being quite petite and the 3X having substantial roominess. When deciding which size to make, think over the measurements in the chart below when choosing. They were all taken with the completed garment laid flat comfortably with no stretching, and before any washing. If you measure along the way, your numbers may not match until the very end. Also, if you use this yarn, there will be approx. 2-3 inches of “give” to the top in the body length and circumference – consider it a positive ease on top of these measurements below.

Finished Measurements:

SHOWN HERE:
Wool and the Gang’s Shiny Happy Cotton in Peach (Color A), Spearmint Green (Color B), Magic Mint (Color C), and Hot Pink (Color D); 100% Peruvian pima cotton; 155 yards (141 meters)/3.5 ounces (100 grams) per skein

Totals = 4 (4, 7, 7, 10, 10) skeins = approx. 14 (14, 24.5, 24.5, 35, 35) ounces, approx. 620 (620, 1,085, 1,085, 1,550, 1,550) yards. You won’t be using the entirety of each skein, especially Color A, so have fun with the remaining yardage on another project!

For sizes Small and Medium, 1 skein each of Colors A-D
For sizes Large and X-Large, 1 skein of Color A, 2 skeins each of Color B-D
For sizes 2X and 3X, 1 skein of Color A, 3 skeins each of Color B-D

This cotton yarn has a wonderful soft drape, and there are so many beautiful, vibrant colors to choose from for the color block! I highly recommend using this brand. If you decide to use a different yarn, look for a similarly soft and light one. Keep in mind that the total ounces and yards amounts above are based on using this particular yarn and will be the maximum amount you need when using a different worsted weight yarn.

GAUGE:
5 rows x 3 dbl v-stitches = 4” x 4” square. Go up or down in hook size if needed to achieve the correct gauge. The gauge is checked by starting the pattern and confirming the measurements above, as opposed to creating a separate swatch before starting the pattern.

NOTIONS:
Tape measure (to check gauge), removable stitch markers, yarn needle (to weave in ends)
