Month 4 of of the Jane Austen Afghan project.

This month is in honor of my personal favorite hero Captain Frederick Wentworth. My heart just goes pitterpat whenever I read Persuasion.

For centuries when men went to sea they sported ganseys loving knitted by their wives, daughters and other loved ones. Many held meaning behind them and each region had their own particular stitch pattern that other fishermen would be able to recognize. Not unlike the tartans of the Scots.

Enjoy my take of Captain Wentworths Gansey Afghan Square, sporting an anchor in the center.
