This shawl was designed to capture all the colours in a gorgeous skein of Lady Persephone Sock in the Eccentric Geeks colourway. I wanted something straight forward to knit, that would sit firmly around my neck, show off the wonderful colours in the skein AND wouldn’t be boring to work on. From these design requirements, Captured Colours was born.

Though this pattern was designed specifically to show off variegated yarn, it also looks stunning in a semi-solid, tonal, and even a solid colour. It shows off any hand dyed yarn beautifully by changing the simple stitch patterns throughout the shawl, to show how the yarn looks worked in different types of fabric.

The gauge listed is what I got when I used the needle size stated, however, I often knit loosely. I would recommend using your preferred needle size for knitting lace in sock weight yarn.

I have to warn you, this pattern is highly addictive. Everyone who has knit one, so far, has wanted to knit another!
