Cardelina is, really, a comfy sweater, with a good classic length, reasonable ease, long sleeves, armholes large enough to host another piece underneath, a nice turtleneck and a so lovely cable pattern, front and back. I just like it! And I hope you will like it too…
It is worked in round from bottom to top until the armholes. Then front and back are worked separately and rejoined at the shoulders by a three needle bind off. Stitches are picked up at the armholes and sleeves worked in round to the wrist.

Cardelina is given in 5 sizes (S, M, L, XL, XXL). It has been designed with 4 in/10-11 cm ease . The sample is modelled in size S.
Chest circumference
S: 38 in/98 cm; M: 43 in/109 cm; L: 47 in/118 cm; XL: 51 in/128 cm; XXL: 55in/139 cm.
Lenght at armholes
S and M: 13¾ in/35 cm; L, XL and XXL: 14¼ in/36 cm
Sleeve length
S: 20 in/51 cm; M: 21 in/53 cm; L: 21¼ in/54 cm; XL and XXL: 22 in/56 cm.
Material
Yarn
DROPS Lima, (65% wool, 35% alpaca; 1.76 oz/50g, 109 y/100 m), colour 3145, powder pink: 12 (13, 15, 16, 17) skeins. Or any aran yarn that fit the gauge.
Needles
2 circular needles in size US 6/4 mm, 30-40in/80-100 cm length.
Short circular needles (24 in/60 cm) in size US 4/3.5 mm; US 6/4 mm; US 7/4.5 mm; US 8/5 mm for the turtleneck.
Notions
2 cable needles.
2 stitch markers (ring type).
5 stitch markers (that you may open)
2 stitches holders or scrap yarn.
One tapestry needle.
Gauge
21 sts and 30 rows over 4” x 4”/10 cm x 10 cm worked in stockinette on US 6/4 mm needle after blocking.
29.5 st and 27 rows over 4” x 4”/10 cm x 10 cm worked in cable pattern on US 6/4 mm needle after blocking.
One full repeat of the pattern (chart 1) measures 12½ in/32 cm x 5½ in/14 cm.
