This pretty and modern style cardigan can be made in any double knit yarn; cotton for summer weight or wool based for winter. The pattern gives instructions how to make a tension square so that you can be sure your double knit yarn will be suitable.

It is quite easy as it is mostly repeating the same one row of pattern. The back and front are made in a single piece, starting at the bottom. You then crochet the sleeves and hood straight onto this piece. This means there is very little sewing necessary. You will only need to sew the shoulders and the top of the hood. To finish off you then crochet an edging to the whole cardigan. The pockets are an optional extra that will need to be sewn in place.

This cardigan is designed to give a lovely slimming effect by being worn open. However, if you want a more roomy cardigan, please consider making one size larger.

There are detailed instructions of how to make the cardigan, with some photographs to help demonstrate when necessary.

The pattern includes both UK and US terms. The UK terms come first and then the whole pattern is repeated with US terms, so please be aware if you print off the pattern that you should only print the pages you want so as not to waste your paper and ink.
