Cardigan “MAIDEN BRAIDS”
This is not just a pattern for a specific garment—this is a complete master class on how to crochet a cardigan. You can use any yarn you like and choose your own cable pattern to suit your taste.
You’ll learn how to calculate and construct your own garment, and it’s all made simple—no complicated measurements or long formulas required.
There’s no need to match my exact gauge—everyone crochets differently! That’s why we use a simple formula to adapt the pattern to your tension.
I’ve included all the necessary diagrams and stitch symbols, so you can easily follow along even if you’ve seen a technique in a book or a video before.
Or, if you prefer, you can make an exact replica of the cardigan I designed.
The pattern is structured as follows:
Swatching and calculations: Learn how to work with your own measurements and stitch gauge, depending on the yarn you choose.
Garment construction: Understand how to shape the piece and incorporate the cable pattern into the fabric (you can use your own cable design or follow the one I’ve provided).
Crocheting the cardigan: Includes detailed instructions, diagrams, and suggestions for customizing it to your liking.
Assembly and edging: Clear visual guides and diagrams for seaming and edging the garment.
Sleeves and cuffs: Step-by-step diagrams and options to tailor the fit and look.
