I used Red Heart Super Saver “Cherry Red” and “Buff” for the main colors. You will also need a small amount of black yarn, a yarn needle, a tiny amount of fiberfill for the beaks, stitch markers, and 4 red 22.5mm plastic buttons.

This pattern was written to fit a standard 3” mug, will stretch to fit a 4” mug, but if you find it tight or loose for your particular mug then you can adjust the number of chains in the button loops.
