I have knit my samples in the beautiful Moody Hues, by Skeinz; this delicious yarn combines a base of merino with alpaca and possum for a luxurious finish. SIZES
0-4 months: to fit 35-38cm
4-9 months: to fit 37-44cm
9-18 months: to fit 43-50cm
Older Toddler: to fit 49-55cm

I have used Skeinz Moody Hues for my samples, which is a base of more than 50% merino combined with alpaca and possum. My testers all used either a 100% merino or wool yarn, or a yarn that is a blend of animal fibres but still wool or merino dominant. Any heavy DK yarn of this kind will work for this pattern.

Gauge: 20 sts/30 rows over 10cm on 4mm/US 6 needles in stocking st, worked flat. You may need to change needle size to obtain gauge.
